RcodeZero: New Anycast site in Geneva

With anycast nodes in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, ipcom, a subsidiary of Internet Stiftung, offers top-level domain operators permanent availability, security and protection of their DNS infrastructure.

For TLD operators, absolute availability, better performance, short response times, and maximum protection of the DNS infrastructure are top priorities. To ensure this, anycast technology has become the industry standard and almost every TLD now has one or more anycast providers.

Optimal routing can be achieved with a homogeneous routing strategy. The RcodeZero DNS team of ipcom GmbH works daily on the further development of the routing strategy of the server locations and also on the implementation of individual customer requirements - especially concerning anycast locations.

Since December 2022, RcodeZero DNS TLD customers - especially the Swiss TLD registry SWITCH (.ch) - can rely on another TLD anycast site in Geneva in addition to the existing Swiss site in Zurich. A total of 26 carefully selected anycast nodes in Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region are now available for TLD operators.
