RcodeZero:  More than 40 locations worldwide

RcodeZero, ipcom's anycast service, offers reliability, stability and maximum availability for online services through a worldwide network.

The Anycast service from ipcom, a subsidiary of the Internet Stiftung, started with seven servers - today there are over 40 worldwide. The Anycast servers are distributed all over the world and ensure that online services are available under one and the same IP address. If a server fails, the topologically required one jumps in. This reduces the response time and spreads the overall load across the network.

The goal of a new server location is always to improve speed. In addition to servers in the USA and Europe, there are also locations in Sao Paulo, Johannesburg, Tokyo and Singapore, for example.

Since more and more customers are using RcodeZero DNS and the traffic is also increasing, the locations of the Anycast service are being expanded. For this purpose, ipcom uses increased server capacities in the cloud.
