nic.at: Security-Lock for .at-domains

nic.at, a subsidiary of the Internet Stiftung, now offers an even better protection against unwanted data changes, cancellations and takeovers of .at-domains with the service "Security-Lock".

If the service is activated, the domain holder or authorised person must authorise every change to the domain by mail. This means that, for example, the registrar or provider can initiate changes, but they are only carried out after further authorisation by mail.

The costs for the service amount to 250.00 Euro (net) per year and domain. If the domain is administered by a registrar or provider, Security-Lock can be requested via the registrar. The registrar will automatically be the invoice recipient.

Security-Lock is especially recommended to domain holders whose business activities are based on uninterrupted accessibility on the web. It is also recommended for companies where problems with the domain could lead to a loss of reputation or uncertainty among customers.
