CERT.at and GovCERT Austria: Annual Report 2022
CERT.at, an initiative of the domain registry nic.at, and GovCERT Austria provide information about the incidents, activities and projects of the past year in their report on Internet security in Austria.
CERT.at is the Austrian national computer emergency response team, which was established in 2008 together with the GovCERT Austria of the Federal Chancellery in cooperation with nic.at. As such, CERT.at is the point of contact for IT security in the national environment and is responsible for all those cases that are not covered by a more specific CERT (such as a sector CERT). CERT.at is quasi the Austrian "Internet fire department", which conducts ongoing monitoring, passes on information, effectively networks nationally and internationally, and responds to threats. Since 2019, CERT.at has also been the national computer emergency response team under NIS law.
GovCERT Austria is the Government Computer Emergency Response Team for public administration in Austria. As such, it serves at the national level as the primary point of contact for the individual agencies of the public administration in the event of a cyber attack. For them, it fulfills the function of the Computer Emergency Response Team according to the NIS Act, which CERT.at covers in the other areas.
The report provides detailed information on the security incident reports received in 2022, their analysis and processing, as well as on national and international cooperation and projects.
