Stopline Annual Report Presented
In 2025, the reporting center for child sexual abuse material and Nazi-related content on the internet received 75,000 reports. Half of all reported content was classified as illegal.
In 2025, Stopline, the Austrian reporting center for online depictions of child sexual abuse and Nazi revivalism, received 75,089 reports—the second-highest number since its inception. 38,264 reports (50.9 percent) were classified as illegal, almost all of them involving depictions of child sexual abuse. This marks a continuation of the sharp rise in illegal content.
In 2025, not a single piece of illegal content reported to Stopline was hosted by an Austrian provider. This confirms the success of the “remove rather than block” principle. Close cooperation between the reporting center, providers, and authorities ensures that illegal content is removed quickly and that Austria remains an unattractive location for hosting.
