netidee projects: TurtleStitchRise

TurtleStitch is a web-based platform for the creative programming of embroidery designs for students, teachers, designers and makers. The platform was fundamentally modernized as part of TurtleStitchRise.

In TurtleStitch, users create embroideries through simple programming: Graphic programming blocks are used to define the movement patterns of a “turtle” and their path is later implemented as an embroidery pattern. The projects can be shared in the community or worked on by others. Tutorials and instructions help users get started with this special form of creative programming.

The newly implemented system architecture ensures stable operation of the platform and makes it easy to search within the approximately 50,000 projects using a powerful semantic search.
