netidee projects: HALE-KIDS

The HALE-KIDS project aims to protect children's privacy in particular. Project manager Soheil Human was honored at the MyData Awards 2024-2025 for his initiatives in the field of data protection.

The MyData Global Awards 2024 and 2025 recognize projects in the field of data protection, privacy, and digital ethics. Soheil Human received the awards for projects such as ADPC and ADPC-KIDS, which promote human-compatible digital innovations. ADPC provides an open, ethically grounded infrastructure for transparently communicating data protection requests, preferences, and consents across browsers, apps, IoT, and immersive technologies.

HALE-KIDS stands for Human-centric, Accountable, Lawful, and Ethical Kids' Digital Privacy. A new technical specification (Advanced Data Protection Control for Kids – ADPC-KIDS) using HTTP headers, Javascript, and Bluetooth enables the communication of privacy-related data and decisions regarding children across different infrastructures and systems (from IoT to mobile apps to the internet). ADPC-KIDS protects children's digital privacy, gives parents central control over their children's data, and provides legally and technically enforceable, human-compatible mechanisms.
