ICANN confirms tldbox as registry service provider for gTLD round 2026
As a successfully evaluated RSP, tldbox is authorized to support applicants in the allocation round for brand, generic, and geo-TLDs starting in April.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has confirmed that tldbox GmbH, a subsidiary of the Internet Foundation, has the technical capabilities to provide core registry services, DNS, and DNSSEC. This makes tldbox one of a limited number of officially recognized registry service providers worldwide that can offer their services in the second round of gTLD allocations.
The RSP evaluation program allows ICANN to evaluate registry backend providers independently of individual gTLD applications. The aim of this process is to ensure the security, stability, and resilience of the Domain Name System (DNS) in advance of the upcoming application round. tldbox GmbH has undergone this process. As a successfully evaluated RSP, it is now authorized to support applicants in this year's new round.
