Everything you need for your own top-level domain (TLD) from a single source

From April 2026, it will once again be possible to apply for your own TLD. tldbox offers consulting, software, and registry services from a single source.

Since 2012, there have been new extensions with general generic terms such as “.club,” city names such as “.toyko,” or brand names such as “.bmw”. They all show that a domain extension is much more than just a technical detail—it creates identity and belonging and provides security in use through its own defined allocation guidelines.

After more than 13 years, the Internet organization ICANN is once again offering the opportunity to apply for your own top-level domain from spring 2026 to August/September. Back in 2012, tldbox successfully supported numerous applications such as “.hamburg” and “.berlin”.

tldbox is a sister company of nic.at, the Austrian registry for .at, .co.at, and .or.at domains. nic.at has demonstrated reliability and professionalism in the operation of the .at zone since 1998. tldbox customers thus benefit from the expertise and technical developments of all nic.at products, which are used by numerous registries and registrars.
